A custom ceremonial drum begins with a conversation. Before I select the materials or begin the construction, I want to understand who the drum is for, how it will be used, and what intention it is being created to hold.
This may be your first drum, a working instrument for an established sacred sound practice, a ceremonial piece, or a deeply personal gift. Each purpose asks for something different in its size, tone, materials, symbolism, and design.
The Custom Consultation
Your inquiry begins a collaborative process in which we explore:
- Whether the drum is for you or being created as a gift
- Your experience with drums or sacred sound
- How you intend to use the drum
- The energy, qualities, or intention you want reflected in it
- Your preferred size, tone, and animal hide
- Colors, handles, adornment, personal symbols, or sigils
- Whether original artwork or more detailed personalization is requested
- Your timeline, location, and shipping needs

Created Under Ceremonial Conditions
Every commissioned drum is made with deep reverence for the animal, the materials, the sound, and the person who will receive it. The construction process is approached ceremonially, with attention given to timing, intention, symbolism, color, tone, and the energetic quality being carried through the work.
Animal hides are not treated as interchangeable materials. Each carries distinct associations and qualities that may contribute to the intention of the finished drum. Availability varies, and we will discuss the hides and sizes currently accessible before your commission is accepted.
Pricing and Customization
Pricing is determined by the drum’s size, hide, construction requirements, adornment, and level of personalization. Original artwork and extensive custom detailing may require an additional design fee. Shipping and any special handling are quoted separately.
After reviewing your inquiry, I will contact you to discuss the design, current material availability, estimated timeline, and total investment. No custom drum is placed into production until we have agreed upon the details.
